According to the Indiana State Police, Michael Chastain drove his vehicle onto the front yard of a couple’s home and then confronted a man on the property. The man’s wife, witnessing the altercation from inside the house, intervened by shooting Chastain. Despite being transported to the hospital, Chastain succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations into the incident are currently being conducted by the Indiana State Police, while the identities of the man Chastain confronted and his wife remain undisclosed.
It has been reported that Michael Chastain was supposedly involved with the couple’s daughter in the past. However, the exact reasons for his presence at the residence are unclear, especially since the person he had a connection with no longer resides there.

The wife of the homeowner observed the altercation that occurred, walked outside with a firearm and eventually shot Chastain.”
Despite being rushed to the Saint Vincent Hospital in Salem, Chastain’s gunshot wound proved fatal.
While the motivation behind Chastain’s actions remains undisclosed, it has been noted that he had a criminal history and had encountered legal issues in the past. As of now, the wife of the male resident who shot Chastain has not faced any charges, with the final decision lying with the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
